In 2011, we incorporated the Day of Compassion into Freedom Fest. It resonated so well with the vision and purpose of the event that we have offered it ever since. Be sure to read below what services are being provided and their times of operation so you don’t miss anything from our compassion component. Also, please note, while the compassion component operates from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m., items and resources are only available as supplies last.
We are pleased that Mercyhealth in partnership with other community organizations will be providing free screenings and awareness information at FreedomFest from 10:00am-2:00pm. Screenings for glucose, cholesterol and blood pressure will be provided. There will be physicians available to discuss the results from the screenings. Mercyhealth will once again be giving away bicycle helmets for children (supplies are limited). There will be plenty of other children’s activities available within the tent. Stop by to learn more about your own health and thank Mercyhealth for providing this wonderful service to the community.
Returning from 2014, we are partnering with Convoy of Hope and bringing in a semi-trailer of groceries and household supplies. Blackhawk Community Credit Union helps pre-pack the items into bags for quick and easy pick up. Each family will leave the compassion component with one bag of groceries and one bag of household supplies. Again, the items are completely free.
