Building 429

We are very excited about Building 429 being on the Freedom Fest stage in 2010. They will be our headline act for the evening. Make sure you don’t miss this one of a kind band! You can watch a video and read more about them below.
Every building block leading up to who Building 429 is today has prepared them for such a time as this. The many valleys and mountaintops they’ve faced together have molded them—breaking them, making them, and priming them for what looks to be their most rewarding period yet.
Building 429 doesn’t just excel at the high-wattage performances. They also have a knack for nuance, as with the heartfelt “Always,” a soaring ballad underscored by piano, guitars, and strings. It doesn’t take long for the song to crescendo and explode into a powerful refrain, with Roy reaching into his upper register.
“Everybody at some point reaches a defining moment in their faith life, a moment with massive questions that we don’t have the answers to, questions you can’t ever really tie a bow around,” Roy says. “‘Always’ is my attempt to answer those questions. God has said that He is before us, He is after us, and He will be with us along every step of the way. All things work together for the good of those who love the Lord. This life is just one piece of the puzzle.”
Realizing that levity and melody are also an integral part of rock ‘n’ roll, Building 429 stretches its wings and goes places once unvisited with “Shoulder,” a bluesy piece that Roy likens to Train’s “Drops of Jupiter.” From top to bottom, the song is a pick-me-up—one of those moments that have become signature in the band’s repertoire.
“Staying alone is definitely not our strength,” Roy says of “Shoulder,” a song inspired by his friendship with Anderson and Garcia. “We’re kind of a brotherhood of sorts. We’ve been through a lot of stuff together. The reality for us is that as long as we stay together, God will continue to mold us for the challenges ahead.”
Of this more lighthearted material, Anderson says, “For a while, our live show was pretty dense and serious. What we’ve realized is that we need those worshipful moments, but we also need moments in our show to let the audience have a little fun.”
But somber or jovial, rocking or inspiring, Building 429 is no longer operating from the perspective of trying to replicate past fortunes. More so than the music or the sound of things, the band wants fans to remember Building 429 as its most meaningful project thus far, a signpost that testifies to how much the group has come along in its ministry.
“I’m more confident than I have ever been in my life when it comes to my calling, when it comes to my brothers, when it comes to my band,” Roy concludes. “That confidence is not in myself. That confidence is in the fact that the Lord is going to do something great with us. We’re just excited to be along for the ride.”
In This Room

IN THIS ROOM exists to make Jesus Christ known. Our vision is to be an enthusiastic voice of encouragement and strength, building the countenance of the weary and driving the passion of the strong, in order to see the missing find a home and call believers in Christ to action. Our mission is to create songs for corporate and individual worship that reflect the heart of God and give opportunity for people to respond to His character and influence in their lives.
ITR met over the last 8 years through many different ministry events. Be it a conference, retreat, camp, or the regular services at our churches, we are passionate about helping foster the best atmosphere for people to interact with God. We love music, but the greatest part of ministering together is seeing people experience the presence of God in a new way.
The name, “In This Room”, was chosen to represent the band because it reflects the most important part of our shows. It doesn’ matter what circumstances you came from, or what you’ll face when you leave. The most important thing is what happens IN THIS ROOM, as you raise your voice to declare the character and influence of God in your life. As you do that, God’s promise is that the Holy Spirit will be with you and you’ll experience the “fruits” or “benefits” of his presence: Love, Joy, Peace, Patience, Kindness, Goodness, Faithfulness, Gentleness, and Self-Control.
Crossroads Band

When Dywight was 8, his uncle say him in the corner with a guitar, and showed him 2 chords. “Stay put ’til I finish makin’ supper.” he said… By the time the meal was ready, D could play “House of the Rising Sun”. He was hooked!
Since that day he also became prolific on drums, keys, bass, harmonica, you name it – he can play it!
Having been in bands all his life, D was ready to apply all he knew to form a band that would give him the freedom to play the guitars he loved, and give ear to the original music that filled his soul…
He called some musicians from past collaborations; Lance on the keys, Donna for vocals, Mike on bass… and he took a chance on some new talent; Michelle on drums, Eric and Karli as vocalists, and Beth on guitars.
Crossroads was born, and we’ve been trying to catch up ever since!!!
No more than 2 weeks after we got together, we had people asking us to come and play. Where most bands knock on doors day and night to find gigs, we have been playing consistently since day one – trying to fit all the dates into our calendar.
The music is straight southern fried, bluesy rock and roll! We know how to have a good time with the music…
Our biggest shining moment to date has been opening up for Award winning recording artists Big Daddy Weave at a WI fest – to a crowd of 20,000 people on the grounds.
Other achievements include; headlining at city wide events, local county fairs, and hot spots. The biggest honor where these are concerned is that we are always asked to come back wherever we play.
There aren’t any bands out there that are doing what we are doing right now, but we hope it will spread like wildfire!

These musicians have played together since the mid 90′s on the Grace Community International worship team. Two years ago they saw the opportunity to formally start a band. Building on a life relationship with God as their foundation, they set aside time apart from the scheduled services to tighten their sound. Then ministry opportunities started knocking on their door. God continues to bless them as they continue to give back to their local fellowship and community through music. Their vision is outside “the box”, drawing fans in with cutting-edge riffs, contemplative lyrics and melodies that leave you wanting more. They know they are called to touch their city, state, nation.. and the world. So far God has been far exceeding their expectations and they know He will continue to do so.
Seven:One Band

Seven:one came together through an unlikely, but increasingly more accepted source of band formation: Craig’s List. An ad placed by drummer Adrian Aspenson brought singer/guitarist Colyn Luchterhand and soon to follow, lead guitarist Don Drury together in March 2009. The band began working up songs written by Colyn and Don, and experimented with a few different musicians in the group. Things began to solidify with Joan Moely being invited to join the group after singing with them in a worship setting at an area church. When the need came up for a bass player, Joan knew of one – her husband Greg. Things clicked right away with the band and the seven:one sound was born.
The band always tell people we play real music about a real God. seven:one doesn’t have that commercial sound on purpose. No formulas here. The God we sing and play about is too big and too real for a simple , bullet point formula. We share how He has touched our lives through times of good, bad, and ugly. Our bluesy, southern rock & roll sound is the perfect music to be real with our audiences.
Our hope is that our music will meet you right where you’re at: whether you’ve known Jesus for a long time, not so long a time, or are just checking Him out; that you get to grow a bit closer to Him and enjoy it through some music that we love to make and play. It’s easy for us, we figure, because of our love for, and gratitude to Jesus for what He’s done and continues to do in our lives.
